Frequently Asked Questions

What can I get?

Goat cheese, goat milk yogurt, goat milk kefir, cajeta (goat milk caramel sauce) and goat milk soap.

Where do I get the goods?

You can pick up at our farm, or at our farmer’s markets in Brunswick (Tuesdays and Fridays), or Crystal Springs on Saturdays.

When do I need to sign up by?

May 1, 2023.

When can I start using my share?

We ask that you wait until April or May of 2022 to start using your Credit Share. That is because we have very limited product and income from January-April, as most of the goats are dried off for the season.

What happens if I use up my share mid-summer?

You can purchase another one, but you won't get the discount. For example, you could pay $200, and your balance would start with $200, not $220. You don't get the discount, but you get the convenience of not having to deal with cash/payment at markets.

How can I get more information?

Get in touch with us via phone (541-729-5769) or email and we'll be happy to answer any questions!

How do I keep track of my balance?

NEW for 2022- our Credit Shares have gone DIGITAL! When you purchase a share, you will be given a gift card with your share balance loaded onto the card. You will use your card whenever you make a purchase, and the card will automatically keep track of your balance.

You can check your balance online here!

You basically just use it as you would an electronic gift card or credit card. At market, you hand it to us and we swipe it (or if you forget it we can manually enter your number, which we will have). On our website, select “Pay by Gift Card” option and enter your number!

What happens if I don't use up my share by the end of the season?

You lose it. All shares must be used up during the season in which it was purchased. Don't sweat it, though. Let's say it's the end of November and you still have $50 left on your account. Cajeta is canned and has a one year shelf life- you could stock up on stocking stuffers! There's also soap, which won't go bad either. You'll have options!

I'm still not convinced- why should I buy a share again?

  • Buying a share SAVES YOU MONEY!

  • You don't need cash to pick up items at the farm or farmers markets. Sometimes I have customers who are in the neighborhood, and stop by for cheese but realize they don't have enough cash. If you're a Credit Share member, it's no problem!

  • Your money stays local, and supports our family farm. We couldn't do this without you!

  • Maybe you'll try something new. Never heard of kefir before? You might not buy it on a shelf in the market, but if you know you're getting a discount on an item, maybe it will give you more incentive to try something new. You may find a new favorite product this way!

  • Your upfront purchase provides us with capital to start the season with. It's a long winter in Maine- and the farm doesn't bring in income during these quiet months. Having a little extra start up capital will help us make the best possible products for you!

I am totally convinced. How do I buy a share?

PLEASE NOTE:
You can also pay by Venmo (@CopperTailFarm), or with cash or a check when you see us in person.
